How Is the American Centrifuge Machine Unique?

Gas centrifuge technology comparison

Several designs for gas centrifuge machines have been developed in various countries over the past decades. Designs often vary based on rotor material, rotor length and rotor speed. Three primary designs are in operation today: Russian, European and the American Centrifuge.

The predominant Russian machine is approximately three feet tall and produces approximately 8 separative work units (SWU) annually.

The prevalent European machine is approximately 12 feet tall and produces approximately 40 SWU annually.

American Centrifuge

The American Centrifuge machine is approximately 43 feet tall and produces approximately 350 SWU annually.
