TerraPower and Centrus Energy Corp. announced today a new memorandum of understanding to significantly expand their collaboration aimed at establishing commercial-scale, domestic production capabilities for high-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU) to supply TerraPower’s first-of-a-kind NatriumTM reactor and energy storage system.
TerraPower announced today its plans to team with Centrus Energy Corp. to establish commercial-scale, domestic production capabilities for high-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU), which will be needed to fuel many next-generation reactor designs including the recently announced Natriumâ„¢ Power Storage System designed by TerraPower and GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy.
